# ModernCI > Agent-first CI: your agents write the code, ModernCI judges it, merges it, and tells you what each merge cost. Self-hosted, one binary. ModernCI judges each move (a branch headed for a target), gives a verdict (green, red, or standing) that cites its evidence, and merges on green. Red goes back to an agent as an appeal. Owner answers become rulings that later prompts follow as precedent. Everything goes on the record, so every merge has a cost. ## Set up - [Deploy ModernCI with your agent](https://modernci.dev/docs/agents.md): the canonical runbook, step by step, with a check and expected output for each step - [Get started](https://modernci.dev/get-started.md): install, register a repo, join a machine (preview) ## Understand it - [Home](https://modernci.dev/index.md): what ModernCI is, the flow, the cost number - [How it works](https://modernci.dev/how-it-works.md): committed, judged, merged, or appealed - [Cost](https://modernci.dev/cost.md): cost per merged change, usage records, pricing - [Compare](https://modernci.dev/compare.md): where ModernCI beats each rival, and how we know ## Reference - [Docs](https://modernci.dev/docs.md): concepts, commands, MCP tools - [Changelog](https://modernci.dev/changelog.md): changes on main ## Optional - [Everything in one file](https://modernci.dev/llms-full.txt): the full text of every page above
